Handoff Agreement
Version 2026-09-12
A donation is complete only when both people confirm it in their iMediShare conversation. Each person accepts the statements below at that moment. They restate the Donor Agreement and Seeker Agreement in the User Agreement, which still applies in full.
1. How a handoff is completed
- The donor reserves the item for one member in their conversation.
- After the item changes hands, the donor confirms the handover and accepts the donor statements.
- The seeker confirms receipt and accepts the seeker statements. The listing is then marked donated and removed from public view.
- If the seeker does not confirm within 7 days, the donor may close the handoff with a note. iMediShare flags these for review.
2. Donor statements
- Ownership and right to give: I own this item or have the legal right to give it away, and it is not stolen, under a lien or otherwise restricted.
- Honest disclosure: I told the recipient the item's condition, age, known defects, prior use, and any safety issues or recalls I know of.
- No recalled or banned items: to my knowledge the item is not under an active FDA or manufacturer recall.
- Cleaning: I cleaned the item to a reasonable standard for its type, or told the recipient I did not.
- As-is and free: I gave the item as-is, with no warranty from me or iMediShare, and I did not ask for or accept payment.
- Release: I release iMediShare from liability arising from this donation, as set out in the User Agreement.
3. Seeker statements
- Assumption of risk: I received this used item as-is. It has not been inspected, certified, sterilized or warrantied by iMediShare, and I accept the risks of using it.
- Consult a professional: I will consult a qualified healthcare professional before using it, especially for respiratory, mobility, wound-care or other clinical equipment.
- Independent inspection: I am responsible for inspecting the item and checking that it is not recalled, damaged or unsuitable before use.
- No resale: I will not sell or exchange this item for profit. If I no longer need it, I will give it away again.
- Release: I release iMediShare, and the donor to the extent the law allows, from liability for injury or loss from using this item, except for intentional misconduct or fraud.
4. Record keeping
iMediShare stores who confirmed, when, and which version of this agreement they accepted. After both confirm, each person may rate the other once. Ratings are shown as an average; written comments are visible only to the two people involved and to moderators.
